Natural gas-fired power plant enters commercial operation in Ohio

A 1,875-megawatt natural gas-fired power plant has entered commercial operation in Guernsey County, Ohio, according to Power Magazine.

The Guernsey Power Station is powered by natural gas from the Marcellus and Utica shale plays.

Construction of the $1.7 billion plant began in 2019.
