Dominion Energy’s $1.3 billion natural gas-fired power station in Greenville, Virginia is now operational, according to Kallanish Energy.

The new plant can produce up to 1,588 megawatts of electricity — enough electricity to power 400,000 houses. According to Dominion, the station is the largest of its kind in the world. It uses three combustion turbines to produce electricity and steam, which is used to make additional electricity.

Additionally, it’s one of the cleanest natural gas stations in the country, with the strictest carbon dioxide limits.
