Natural gas production remains strong in Ohio’s Utica

By the end of the third quarter of 2018, natural gas production in Ohio’s Utica shale increased 39 percent year-over-year to 6.95 billion cubic feet per day, according to API Smart Brief.

The top producing counties were Belmont, Jefferson and Monroe counties, which accounted for nearly three-quarters of total output.

Furthermore, Ascent Resources finished the period as the state’s most prolific driller, producing over 1.9 bcf/d in the third quarter. Its production was up from 1.2 bcf/d at the start of the year.
