A set of new gas drilling regulations may cancel Pennsylvania’s revised rules for smaller and shallower traditional gas drilling, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette PowerSource reports.
On June 9, Senate Bill 279 moved forward in the Pennsylvania Legislature, requiring the state Department of Environmental Protection to draft conventional drilling rules separately from unconventional rules.
According to the source, DEP will still be able to draft new rules for conventional drillers.
