Signaling that the project is on its way to approval, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission issued its final Environmental Impact Statement for the Nexus Gas Transmission pipeline, according to Farm and Dairy.
Nexus issued a statement to the media, saying the action keeps the project on track with earlier timelines.
If it’s approved and completed the project will result in about 210 miles of new 36-inch diameter natural gas pipeline in Ohio, and 47 miles of the same pipeline into Michigan. It will have the capacity to transport 1.5 billion cubic feet of natural gas a day from the Marcellus and Utica shale regions into Canada.
