House Bill 225 mandates the Ohio Division of Natural Resources ‘ chief of the division of oil and gas resources must spend “not less than 30 percent of the revenue credited to the oil and gas well fund” to plug wells where a “known responsible owner” cannot be identified.

The new bill also calls for the submission of written reports concerning the status of efforts to identify and plug abandoned oil and gas wells.
