Ohio, Pa., W. Va. combine for 32 new permits during week ended Dec. 19

Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia are finishing out the year with strong oil and gas permitting activity in their shale fields, issuing 32 new permits the week ended Dec. 19 and 30 new permits a week prior, according to Marcellus Drilling News.

Pennsylvania recorded the most permits from Dec. 13-19, issuing 13 to three drillers across five well pads in four counties.

West Virginia totaled the second-most new permits with 11. Those were split between two drillers for two well pads in Tyler County.

Ohio issued eight new permits to two drillers for three pads in two counties.
