Due to violations of overtime provisions in the Fair Labor Standards Act, certain oil and gas companies may owe workers in Ohio and West Virginia unpaid wages, according to The Intelligencer / Wheeling News-Register.
Investigations by the U.S. Department of Labor found that companies didn’t properly compensate employees for overtime hours, among other violations.
The source reports that out of 2,500 affected employees, 16 are from Ohio and 1 is from West Virginia. Overall, the companies may owe $1.6 million total for all 2,500 affected employees.
