Permitting activity has picked up in Columbiana County, Ohio, since the beginning of the year, according to The Youngstown Business Journal.
EAP Ohio LLC, a division of Encino Acquisition Partners, Houston, has applied for permits to drill four new wells in Washington Township. The company plans to drill four new wells at its Seven-18 pad, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. The permits are awaiting approval.
Houston-based Hilcorp Energy Co. has also been actively seeking permits in Columbiana County. It was recently awarded a permit to drill deeper and build out a horizontal leg at its 10H well at the Tarka pad in Fairfield Township in Columbiana County.
The ODNR has awarded 14 permits since January to these oil and gas companies — EAP has received two in Washington Township and Hilcorp has received 12 for new horizontal wells in Fairfield Township.
