The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission recently voted to approve the restart of the Mariner East 1 pipeline that had been shut down for nearly two months after sinkholes appeared near it, according to the Pittsburgh Business Times.
The corrective actions were completed to PUC’s satisfaction last week. The Mariner East 1 pipeline will begin its restart service immediately.
The PUC’s Bureau of Investigations and Enforcement issued an emergency order on March 7 to stop service on the Mariner East 1, while its owners, Sunoco Pipeline, took corrective action to address PUC concerns in Chester County.
