A new analysis by Rystad Energy projected oil production in the Permian Basin to grow by about 900,000 b.d in 2022 and 2023, according to Natural Gas Intelligence.
Production is expected to increase from 4.7 million b/d in 2021 to 5.6 million b/d this year, and to about 6.5 million b/d in 2023.
The Permian Basin is on track to account for about half of expected U.S. output for 2023, which Rystad expects to total about 13.2 million b/d. — an increase from about 42% of total production in 2021.
