Last week a methane gas explosion destroyed one house and prompted the evacuation of about 30 other homes in Beaver County, Pennsylvania, according to Pittsburgh Action News 4.

Center Township residents reported flames of more than 100 feet into the air caused by the 5 a.m. blast. The explosion also downed power lines leaving about 1,500 people in the dark.

Energy Transfer, the company that owns the pipeline, said in an initial assessment of the site showed a landslide in the vicinity. The 24-inch gas line was only in service for seven days before the incident.
