Today, Russia and Saudi Arabia agreed to curb oil production, but only if other producers join them.
Reuters reports that the proposal was made by Russian, Saudi, Venezuelan and Qatari oil ministers. Iran intends to increase oil output.
The deal intends to curb production during the supply glut, thus steadying and improving the market. According to the source, this would be the first deal between OPEC and non-OPEC members since 2001.
