Last week President Joe Biden signed a bill to repeal a Trump-era rule that loosened regulations on methane emissions from the oil and gas industry, according to CNN.
Biden said the bill is an “important first step” to cut methane pollution and said it “reflects a return to common sense and commitment to the common good.”
Furthermore, Biden believes the infrastructure framework that he and a bipartisan group of senators agreed to a week prior to signing the bill could also help address the climate crisis.
