According to The Parkersburg News and Sentinel, oil and gas producers in West Virginia may be tapping into another shale formation.
The Rogersville Shale is a formation under Kentucky and in West Virginia between Huntington and Parkersburg. It’s about as deep as the Utica Shale in West Virginia.
A test well for the Rogersville Shale has been drilled in Putnam County, West Virginia, at a depth of 14,000 feet.
