On Monday, Range Resources Corp. agreed to sell overriding royalty interest in Marcellus shale leases located in Washington County, Pa., according to Oil and Gas Investor.
According to the company’s news release, it signed and closed the agreement to sell a proportionately reduced 1 percent overriding royalty in its Washington County leases for gross proceeds of $300 million to an undisclosed buyer.
According to Range’s website, it pioneered the Marcellus Shale in Washington County with the successful drilling of the Renz #1 well in 2004.
