Oil and natural gas production decreased in 2020 as operators responded to decreased demand during the COVID-19 pandemic, according to Ohio the Oil and Gas Association’s annual Debrosse Memorial Report.
Natural gas production dropped 10% year-over-year to 2.4 TCF. Oil production dropped 16% year-over-year to 23.2 million bbl.
Furthermore, permitting activity dropped 25% to 353 permits issued, completions were down 34% to 267 and the number of producers operating in Ohio fell to 31 in 2020 from 41 in 2019.
