Rice Energy will potentially acquire 27,400 undeveloped acres in Greene County, Pennsylvania, through a stalking horse asset purchase agreement with a subsidiary of Alpha Natural Resources, Inc., according to Observer-Reporter.

The source reports that the purchase agreement would give Rice acreage that’s adjacent to its existing developed Marcellus shale acreage.
