Rig counts didn’t change week-to-week in Baker Hughes’ latest count.

Ohio still has 12 rigs, Pennsylvania has 13 rigs and West Virginia has 11 rigs as of the July 1 count. Rigs operating in both the Utica and Marcellus shales have remained the same.

A year ago during this week, there were 18 rigs operating in Ohio. Forty-seven rigs were operating in Pennsylvania this week last year, and 19 rigs were operating in West Virginia. The total U.S. rig count stands at 431 as of July 1, down from 862 during the same week last year.
