WINTERSVILLE, Ohio — Ohio State University Extension, Jefferson County Farm Bureau, Jefferson Soil and Water Conservation District, and the Eastern Ohio Development Alliance have teamed up to offer a shale gas workshop series for landowners this winter.

The workshops, which run from 7:30-9:30 p.m., will be held at the Jefferson JVS near Bloomingdale.

The first session Feb. 28 will focus on wealth and tax management strategies for landowners, covering lease and royalty payments.

The session will be taught by Atty. Peggy Kirk Hall, tax specialist Dave Miller, and OSU Extension Educator Mike Hogan.

The second workshop, March 6, will share information on negotiating pipeline easements that are favorable to landowners. Hall will return for this session, joined by and Dale Arnold, an energy specialist with the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation.

The workshops are free and refreshments will be served by the Jefferson County Farm Bureau. For more information, contact the Jefferson County Office of OSU Extension at 740-264-2212.
