A Canadian company with offices in southwestern Pennsylvania is getting its feet wet with the Marcellus Shale, according to Pittsburgh Tribune Review.
Stantec, with corporate headquarters based in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, has been known for its architectural work and bridge designs. The company is building pipelines and well pads as well as forming environmental services clients. In recent years, Stantec has acquired smaller companies, which gives it an advantage by having the ability to provide energy clients with all of the services they need.
Even though oil prices are at a six-year low and natural gas prices are at their lowest since 2012, Stantec believes that revenue from pipelines will increase and prices will rise as natural gas is carried to new markets.
