Ten years into Pennsylvania’s Marcellus boom, series will look at development

The exploration and development of shale oil and gas in regions across the United States has undoubtedly affected numerous landowners.

Beginning Oct. 19, The Patriot-News will begin a series focusing on the leasing, drilling, pipelines and environmental, health and safety standards surrounding the Marcellus Shale industry in Pennsylvania.

According to the newspaper, the series will explore the question of whether or not the shale development has equalled economic growth and environmental protection.
