( 1 ) Carroll County is Undergoing Changes thanks to Oil and Gas

Carroll County, Ohio is home to more Utica shale wells than any other county in the state. The county has 39 wells producing and another 184 drilled or permitted as of March 23, according to the Canton Repository.

The county’s chamber of commerce has seen fifty new companies join since 2011. Carroll County made $1.8 million leasing mineral rights on its property. Things are looking rosey for the rural Ohio county.

( 3 ) Pipelines and Processing Plants needed for Utica

Despite a recent sell-off of acreage in the Utica, Chesapeake Energy Corp. remains confident that the Utica will be productive, but pipelines and processing plants are needed according to the Akron Beacon Journal.

Chesapeake remains the No. 1 drilling company in Ohio with 14 drilling rigs, 66 wells in production and 249 wells drilled.

( 4 ) Chesapeake Pumping More Oil

According to the Intelligencer, Chesapeake Energy Corp., company-wide oil production jumped 56 percent last year, averaging 103,000 barrels per day.

The increasing oil production is also helping the company’s bottom line. During the first quarter of 2013, Chesapeake earned $1.13 billion, a 35 percent increase over the same period in 2012.
