Trucks used to transport equipment, water, sand, drill cuttings and other materials to and from drilling sites over traverse many rural roads. In Pennsylvania’s Marcellus Shale region, Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports that companies like Magna Service Agency exist to promote road and traffic safety.

Magna Service Agency works with drilling companies by helping to maneuver vehicles. The men wear reflective orange vests and wave orange flags while directing tractor-trailers and heavy machinery.

The leading cause of death in oil and gas industry accidents is vehicle crashes, according to the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health.
