US crude inventories increase 4.1 million bbl during the week ended Jan. 27

U.S. crude oil inventories, excluding the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, increased by 4.1 million bbl during the week ended Jan. 27, according to U.S. Energy Information Administration data.

U.S. crude inventories currently sit at 452.7 million bbl, which is 4% above the 5-year average for this time of year, according to Oil & Gas Journal.

Additionally, total gasoline inventories increased by 2.6 million bbl — 7% below the 5-year average for this time of year — and distillate fuel inventories increased by 2.3 million bbl — about 17% below the 5-year average for this time of year.
