From 2019 to 202, U.S. natural gas production decreased 1%, however, production in the Appalachian Basin remained strong, according to Farm and Dairy.
As production fell 0.9 billion cubic feet per day last year, the Appalachian Basin realized a production increase. Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia produced 33.6 billion cubic feet per day in 2020, compared to 32.1 billion cubic feet per day a year prior.
West Virginia experienced the largest increase in natural gas production at 20% or about 1.2 billion cubic feet per day, over its 2019 production.
