US rig count climbs three during week ended Aug. 6

The United States rig count climbed three during the week ended Aug. 6, 2021, according to Baker Hughes data.

The U.S. gained two oil rigs and one miscellaneous rig for 491 active rigs total. The count is up from 247 rigs during the same period in 2020.

Additionally, there are 387 active oil rigs currently, which is up from 176 a year ago. Natural gas rigs sit at 103, compared to 69 a year ago.
