US rig count falls to 768 for week ended Oct. 28

The U.S. oil and natural gas rig count fell three units to 768 on declines in both oil- and natural gas-directed drilling during the week ended Oct. 28, according to Baker Hughes Co. data.

The U.S. oil rig count dropped two rigs, while the natural gas rig count decreased by one rig.

The 768 active U.S. rigs are up from 544 rigs running in during the same period a year prior, according to Natural Gas Intelligence.

The Canadian rig count climbed two units during the week ended Oct. 28 to total 212, which is up from 166 during the same period last year.
