Permitting activity slowed in Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia during the week ended Oct. 31, according to Marcellus Drilling News. Only nine new permits were issued across the three states.
Only two new shale drilling permits were issued in Pennsylvania. Both went to Seneca Resources Co LLC for the same well pad in Cameron County.
West Virginia issued seven new shale drilling permits — four to Antero Resources Corporation, two to Northeast Natural Energy LLC and one to HG Energy II Appalachia, LLC.
Ohio issued no new shale drilling permits.
