WV MetroNews reports that West Virginia Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin is confident that in the future, a petrochemical complex, including an ethane cracker, will be built in Wood County.
The idea for the petrochemical complex was first mentioned in 2013. The proposal included an ethane cracker, three polyethylene plants and infrastructure for water treatment and energy cogeneration.
Odebrecht, the Brazilian company that intends to build the complex, is going forward with the permitting process.
