WPX Energy recently announced that it plans to leave the Marcellus Shale and focus instead on shale plays in the western part of the country, according to Denver Business Journal.
The company sold $200 million in assets to an undisclosed buyer.
Currently, the only WPX operations in the Marcellus Shale are located in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. In early 2015, WPX sold its assets in northeastern Pennsylvania assets and its international assets in Argentina and Columbia.
