During the third quarter of this year alone, 16 of Gulfport Energy Corp.’s wells produced 18.1 billion cubic feet of natural gas in eastern Ohio’s Utica shale, giving each of them an average of over 1 billion cubic feet.
Columbus Business First reports that during the same time period, 15 Rice Energy Inc. wells and 4 Ascent Resources wells hit the 1 billion cubic feet mark.
Gulfport has 47 wells in Belmont and Monroe counties, said to be the hotspot for Utica drilling in Ohio.
