While Shell Chemical has officially purchased 1,000 acres along the Ohio River in Beaver County, Pennsylvania for an ethane cracker plant, the company has not made a final decision about moving forward with the project.
The Business Journal reports that a Shell spokesman said that the company will decide whether or not to move forward once the full project evaluation is finished.
If the cracker plant is built, as many as 400 people could be hired. About 10,000 construction workers would be needed to build the plant.
