Akron Beacon Journal reports that Kinder Morgan Inc. has partnered with Riverstone Investment Group LLC on the Utopia East Pipeline that will cross northern Ohio.
Riverstone bought a 50 percent equity interest in the Utopia Pipeline project.
The Utopia Pipeline, which stands for Utica to Ontario Pipeline Access, will originate in Harrison County and run west and north across the state to Fulton County into Michigan and then into Ontario, Canada. The pipeline will carry natural gas liquids like ethane and propane from the Utica shale to a petrochemical facility in Sarnia, Ontario, Canada, where the natural gas liquids will be used as feedstock to make plastics.
