Nexus Gas Transmission LLC announced its intent to move forward with its plan for the Nexus Pipeline that will stretch across northern Ohio.

Akron Beacon Journal reports that on Nov. 20, the company filed its paperwork with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission for its environmental review of the pipeline.

FERC is expected to give a final ruling late next year. Nexus plans to begin construction on the pipeline in January 2017. The pipeline would move natural gas from the Marcellus and Utica shale regions to markets in the Midwest and to other connecting pipelines.
