Royal Dutch Shell PLC intends to spend more money on its downstream and petrochemicals division in 2016, The Business Journal reports.
Shell will spend $7 billion this year on downstream projects, up from the $5 billion that it usually spends. Much of this spending will be in the petrochemicals division, according to the newspaper.
The company has not yet made a final decision on its proposed ethane cracker project in Beaver County, Pennsylvania. Shell reported that the project was not included in its recent cuts.
