Shale Play reports that Ohio made a quarterly record for Marcellus and Utica shale yields this year.

Rice Energy’s Gold Digger well in Belmont County produced 1.55 billion cubic feet of oil during the second quarter of 2015. The well, located on state Route 9 south of St. Clairsville, produced 1.55 Bcf during the second quarter, the most in Belmont County.

Gulfport, American Energy Partners and XTO Energy are also leading the way in gas production in Belmont County. Natural gas production is expected to decrease this fall, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration.
