Marcellus shale gas on its way to Norway

The first shipment of Marcellus shale ethane left from Sunoco Logistics’ Marcus Hook terminal March 9, en route to a petrochemical plant in Norway.

Philadelphia Media Network reports that 257,000 barrels of ethane had been shipped via the Mariner East pipeline from western Pennsylvania’s shale fields.

Sunoco had pledged $2.5 billion to the Mariner East pipeline, according to the source.
