Nexus pipeline denied restraining order against property owners in Medina County

Medina Gazette reports that a restraining order request from the Nexus Pipeline Transmission company that would allow the company access to three properties for surveying purposes has been denied.
Medina County Common Pleas Judge Christopher Collier said that permitting the temporary restraining order would have allowed Nexus to access the properties before the landowners’ sides were heard. An expedited case will be held Sept. 24 to hear arguments.
Temporary restraining orders against landowners have been granted in Columbiana, Lucas, Lorain and Sandusky counties for surveying but they have been denied in Erie and Wood counties. If Nexus does not complete the surveys, it will not get approval from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.
The Nexus Pipeline was proposed by Spectra Energy out of Houston, Texas. It will carry natural gas from Columbiana County across Ohio to Michigan and Canada.
