In the Marcellus and Utica Shale region, several electrical power plant projects are in the works. The Business Journal reports that the area’s natural gas supply, available workforce and the need to replace older power plants are what make Ohio a prime location for these projects.

Recently, it was announced that a $1.1 billion power plant will be built in Wellsville. One electrical power plant is planned in Carroll County and another is slated for construction in Trumbull County.
