On Tuesday, Royal Dutch Shell gave the official word on its multi-billion dollar ethane cracker planned for Beaver County, Pennsylvania. After the announcement, industry leaders from across the Utica and Marcellus shale region voiced approval of the decision, according to Observer-Reporter.
The cracker will be one of the largest in North America as well as one of the first built in the last 20 years, apart from the Gulf Coast.
Construction work was done on the site before the official announcement, but the source reports that production won’t begin for a few more years.
